The first company, Sharp-Roxy Corporation (SRC), was established in Malaysia in 1974 in the state of Kedah. It was the company’s first overseas production and export base. With the generous support of both the people and government of Malaysia, Sharp has continually expanded its activities in Malaysia to become a successful household brand. Today, after three decades, there are five Sharp group companies in Malaysia. These companies included:

Sharp-Roxy Corporation (M) Sdn. Bhd. (SRC)
Base: Sg. Petani, Kedah Darul Aman
Establish in 1974, SRC is Sharp’s first overseas production and export base. SRC specializes in audio-visual products and has produced portable radios, radio-cassette recorders, CD-ROM mechanism, mini-compos and optical pick-ups for MD/DVD-ROM use.

Sharp-Roxy Electronics Corporation (M) Sdn. Bhd. (SREC)
Base: Batu Pahat, Johor Darul Takzim
Establish in 1980, SREC is Sharp Malaysia’s manufacturing arm for TVs. Since its inception, SREC has seen the black & white TV, coloured TV, Video TV, Viewcam/Projector and wide screen HDTV rolled off its production line.

Sharp-Roxy Sales & Service Company (M) Sdn. Bhd. (SRSSC)
Base: Shah Alam, Selangor Darul Ehsan
Establish in 1985, SRSSC is the marketing arm of the Sharp Group in Malaysia and is responsible for the sales, marketing and promotion of all Sharp products in the country which includes consumer electronics, office automation equipment, document solution business and photovoltaic power system.

Sharp Manufacturing Corporation (M) Sdn. Bhd. (SMM)
Base: Batu Pahat, Johor Darul Takzim
Establish in 1989, SMM boasts of state-of-the-art manufacturing technology and has manufactured VTR, VCD and DVD players. Today, SMM assembles LCD TV for both the domestic and international markets.

Sharp Electronics (M) Sdn. Bhd. (SEM)
Base: Shah Alam, Selangor Darul Ehsan
Establish in 1995, SEM is an R&D company with international procurement function. SEM key functions included R&D for consumer electronic appliances, procurement of part and components, product engineering and distribution of service parts.
